Position Summary
Under the direction of the Food & Beverage management and supervisory team, this position leads by example and provides exemplary beverage service to casino guests in a fast paced environment. This position is a dual role, working primarily as a Beverage Server with the responsibility for light supervisory duties in the absence of a manager or supervisor (typically for only part of a shift - e.g., the last 2 hours of a shift). Must be collaborative, excel at multi-tasking and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Motivates, leads by example and provides a learning environment. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.
Job Duties
- Provides beverage and food service following established standards of service
- Cleans and buses section
- Assesses guest alcohol consumption to determine removal or restriction decisions and delivers message to guest
- Point of contact for customer escalations including assessing situations for voiding or comping a meal
- Responds to basic employee questions/issues
- Responsible to check the phone for sick calls, may be required to call in replacements
- Responsible for assigning sections to servers, bartenders and hosts (if applicable)
- Responsible for basic shift training and orientation for new employees from time to time
- Responsible for organizing EOs (early outs) if necessary
- Responsible for ensuring basic opening or closing duties/checklist is completed, following up with co-workers if necessary
- Works as a member of the team and provides support to co-workers on shift to ensure an overall exceptional guest experience for all casino guests

Minimum Qualifications
- Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent is required
- Proven leadership skills and qualities is required
- Excellent GEM skills are required
- Cash handling and point of sales experience is required
- One year food and beverage serving experience in either a bar or restaurant setting is required
- Satisfactory attendance is required
- Strong sales and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Ability to stand and carry a tray for the duration of a shift is required
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Excellent knowledge of Spirit, Wine and Beer is required
- Must be pleasant, positive, and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
- Neat, clean and professional appearance is required
- Ability to communicate well with team members
- Ability to commit to offering our guests the highest level of guest service is required
- Must be flexible and able to work various shifts
