Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Truck Operator to join our team. This role involves operating tow trucks to assist with vehicle recoveries, transports, and roadside assistance. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle various situations on the road efficiently and safely. Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover, transport, and deliver vehicles.
- Assist customers with roadside assistance services, including jump-starts, tire changes, and lockouts.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and ensure proper maintenance of tow equipment.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with vehicles or towing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all jobs performed, including details of vehicle condition and services provided.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during operations to ensure safety for yourself and others.
- Assist with forklift operation or other related tasks as needed in the yard or storage areas.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in commercial driving or operating heavy-duty vehicles is required
- Mechanical knowledge or automotive repair experience is highly advantageous.
- Customer service experience is beneficial for interacting professionally with clients.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating commercial vehicles is required.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
