Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in need of support. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings, with a focus on senior care and working with individuals with disabilities. This role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing the well-being of clients through personalized care. The Personal Support Worker will play a vital role in creating a comfortable and supportive environment for those under their care.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, including those with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Support clients with mobility exercises or transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow care plans meticulously and document care provided in accordance with organizational policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Compassionate nature with excellent caregiving skills and patience
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing exceptional client-centered care
Pay: $17.89-$23.00 per hour
