POSITION PURPOSE
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for performing shipping and receiving duties.
**TRANSPORTATION NOTICE: All applicants must have transportation to get to our location as there is no transit service available.**
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping, Receiving and Inspecting Shipments
- Ensure all goods are shipped in a timely, cost-effective manner.
- Verify and record all incoming goods, and reject damaged items.
Preparing for Products to be Shipped
- Pack goods, assemble containers, and prepare shipping documents
Loading and Unloading Shipments
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operate mobile equipment including forklifts in the warehouse as required.
Storing and Distributing
- Unpack, code, and route goods to storage areas.
- Distribute deliveries to various departments within the facility.
Maintaining Record
- Complete all necessary documentation to ensure operations are not disrupted.
- Keep internal records of shipments, manually or electronically.
Communication and Customer Service
- Respectfully and collaboratively, communicate with team members, supervisors, managers, and people from other organizations.
- Ensure that all interactions with our customers and couriers are respectful, positive and collaborative.
Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe atmosphere and ensure compliance with all WSH policies, protocols and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Must have transportation to get to our location (no transit service available)
- Takes initiative and is a self-starter.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties/projects at one time, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintains open communication and a team-oriented work environment with all departments and all levels of personnel.
- Demonstrates flexibility and professionalism throughout the day.
- Adhere to all start/end times including break and lunch schedules.
- Willingness to work in other areas of the facility as required.
- Maintaining a safe manner and following all safety rules.
- Ability to assess workplace hazards and report to supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Required: Must have experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Required: Must have experience operating a forklift.
- Required: Must be fluent in English
- Required: Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
- Required: The position requires physical requirements including lifting, pushing/pulling, lifting, bending/stretching and standing.
- Preferred: Experience communicating with customers and couriers.
