Renovation Technician
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Position Summary
The Renovation Technician is responsible for completing residential renovation projects with a focus on quality workmanship, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. This role leads day-to-day activities on renovation sites, performs a wide range of skilled construction tasks, coordinates with subcontractors and team members, and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Centennial’s standards.
The Renovation Technician works primarily in occupied residential homes and serves as a key representative of the company on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Renovation & Construction Work
- Complete residential renovation projects including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and general home improvements.
- Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, drywall installation and repair, mudding and taping, trim work, cabinetry installation, flooring, finishing carpentry, painting, and tile installation.
- Install and replace basic plumbing fixtures and complete other renovation-related tasks as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail throughout all phases of construction.
Project Execution
- Lead daily site activities and ensure work progresses according to project schedules.
- Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
- Identify potential issues early and implement practical solutions to keep projects moving forward.
- Provide regular progress updates to project coordinators and management.
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are used efficiently and responsibly.
Customer Experience
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with homeowners and clients.
- Represent Centennial positively while working in customers’ homes.
- Address questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Deliver a renovation experience that reflects the company’s commitment to quality and service.
Safety & Quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Conduct work in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Perform quality checks throughout projects to ensure finished work meets company expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of residential renovation or carpentry experience.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices and renovation techniques.
- Proficiency in framing, drywall, cabinetry, flooring, tile, trim, and finishing work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge is considered an asset.
- Red Seal Carpenter certification is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must supply personal hand tools; company-provided major tools and equipment are available.

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
