Job Description:
We are seeking a safe, experienced driver to operate a 5-ton truck (air-brake equipped) to handle regional logistics, local pick-ups/deliveries, and support our fleet operations. This is a key role in ensuring on-time customer service and reinforcing our reputation for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a 5-ton truck
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections and post-trip checks .
- Load/unload merchandise as required (may involve pallets, small bulk items).
- Complete deliveries and pick-ups in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and communicate with dispatch.
- Adhere to all provincial regulations, company policies and safety standards.
- Assist with warehouse support if needed (e.g., repositioning loads).
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s licence appropriate for a 5-ton truck in Manitoba.
- Demonstrated experience driving a mid-sized commercial truck (5-ton class or comparable).
- Strong safety record (driving abstract will be required).
- Ability to perform manual tasks (loading/unloading) when required.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Knowledge of local roads and driving conditions in Manitoba and surrounding region.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with logistics/warehousing operations.
- Familiarity with e-commerce delivery workflows (e.g., multiple stops, tracking notifications).
- Experience with real-time tracking systems or with fleet dispatch.
