Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to operate self-erecting or tower cranes on active construction sites. The ideal candidate will be certified under BC Crane Safety standards and demonstrate full compliance with WorkSafeBC’s Occupational Health & Safety Regulation Part 14.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate self-erecting or tower cranes to lift, move, and position materials safely and efficiently
- Conduct pre-use inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition
- Follow site-specific lift plans and critical lift protocols
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations and inspections
- Communicate effectively with riggers, signalers, and site supervisors
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including fall protection, load handling, and swing radius awareness
- Participate in toolbox talks and site safety meetings
Qualifications
- Valid BC Crane Operator Certification for Self-Erect or Tower Crane (issued by BC Crane Safety)
- Demonstrated competency as per WorkSafeBC Regulation 14.34 and 14.34.1
- Familiarity with load charts, rated capacities, and safe lifting practices
- Ability to interpret blueprints and lift plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights
