Staff Plus is hiring a Material Handler / Machine Operator for a full-time, permanent opportunity with our client in Mississauga, ON.
This role is a good fit for someone with manufacturing or warehouse experience who is comfortable lifting materials, moving parts between departments, and supporting production areas. You will help ensure assemblers and machine operators have the components, packaging supplies, and materials they need to keep production running smoothly.
Pay Rate:
- Training: $20.00 per hour
- Afternoon Shift: $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
Training will take place on the day shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Regular afternoon shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver components, packaging supplies, and materials to work areas as required
- Ensure assemblers and production teams have the supplies needed to complete orders
- Collect, move, and transfer materials to the correct departments
- Move sheet metal from racks to the CNC laser machine
- Run laser-cut sheet metal parts through a deburring machine
- Handle medium-to-heavy materials throughout the shift
- Report damaged, defective, or non-conforming materials
- Identify and communicate quality concerns
- Complete shop records accurately
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
- Follow health and safety procedures
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe by following workplace organization and housekeeping procedures
What We’re Looking For:
- 1 to 2 years of material handling experience
- At least 1 year of warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs as required
- Able to work with sheet metal, parts, components, and production materials
- Detail-oriented and able to complete records accurately
- Able to understand simple to more complex assemblies
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Valid forklift licence is an asset
- Experience with electrical fixture materials or component manufacturing is preferred
