Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Swim Instructor/Lifeguard 1 to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our aquatic facility patrons. This role involves supervising swimming activities, providing instruction to swimmers of various skill levels, and maintaining a safe environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong teaching skills, a passion for swimming, and a commitment to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Supervise pool activities to ensure the safety of all swimmers and guests
- Provide swimming instruction tailored to individual skill levels, including beginners and advanced swimmers
- Enforce facility rules and safety policies consistently
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including performing rescues when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and related facilities
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and pool conditions
- Educate patrons on water safety practices and swimming techniques
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the aquatic facility as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in teaching swimming or lifeguarding is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate proper techniques and safety procedures
- Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid is preferred or must be obtained upon hiring
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct and engage participants effectively
- Ability to remain alert, attentive, and responsive during long periods of supervision
- Must be at least 16 years old or older depending on local regulations
- A passion for teaching swimming and ensuring water safety for all ages
Pay: $27.30-$31.97 per hour
