Territory Sales Representative – Alberta
Tanks-A-Lot is looking for a Territory Sales Representative to help grow our business throughout Alberta.
About the Role
The Territory Sales Representative will be responsible for growing and maintaining Tanks-A-Lot's customer base throughout Alberta.
The position is a mix of office and territory travel. You will have considerable independence in managing your territory, planning customer visits and creating new sales opportunities.
You will work closely with our inside sales and estimating team and coordinate territory coverage with our other sales representative. During our busy fall season, the focus shifts toward working from the office and supporting the team through our busiest time of year.
Your customers will include:
- Septic installers and designers
- Excavation and construction contractors
- Plumbers
- Builders and developers
- Farmers and agricultural customers
- First Nations communities
- Municipalities
- Dealers and distributors
- Rural property owners and other customers requiring septic and wastewater products
Products you'll represent:
- Septic tanks
- Cisterns
- Sewage holding tanks
- Wastewater treatment systems
- Pumps and controls
- Septic accessories and related products
You don't need to be a wastewater expert when you start. We will provide product and technical training. What we need is someone who already knows how to develop relationships and sell.
What You'll Do
- Develop new customers and business opportunities throughout Alberta
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers
- Regularly visit customers and potential customers in their communities
- Identify upcoming projects and sales opportunities
- Follow up on quotations and opportunities
- Work with the inside sales team to develop and close business
- Attend industry events, trade shows and customer meetings
- Become knowledgeable about Tanks-A-Lot products and their applications
- Manage your territory and travel schedule independently
- Represent Tanks-A-Lot professionally in the communities you serve
Required
- Outside sales experience is an asset.
- Ability of developing and maintaining customer relationships
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Comfortable with regular travel
- Valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle
- Comfortable using computers, email, CRM and other sales tools
- Professional, approachable and trustworthy
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year
Performance Bonus: Up to $40,000 per year
