We are based out of the Port Coquitlam area and conduct business throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver, as well as the Kootenays, the Sunshine Coast and Edmonton. Our work consists of small to medium size commercial contracts including New Build, Retrofits and Seismic Upgrades.

About the position
Four Lakes Mechanical Ltd. is growing and looking to add a quality Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the Workers Compensation Act, WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Lead incident investigations and corrective action processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs, policies, and Safe Work Procedures.
- Deliver new worker orientations, site-specific orientations, and ongoing safety training.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and worker engagement initiatives.
- Monitor subcontractor and worker compliance with safety requirements.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate return-to-work and injury management processes as required.
- Support project management and field supervision in managing construction safety risks.
- Assist with emergency preparedness planning and response.
Qualifications:
- Valid Construction Safety Officer (CSO) Certification from a recognized BC training provider.
- Thorough knowledge of WorkSafeBC OHS Regulations and BC construction safety requirements.
- Experience working in construction, mechanical contracting, industrial, or commercial environments.
- Strong understanding of:
Hazard identification and risk assessment.
Incident investigation and reporting.
Fall protection.
Confined space entry.
Lockout/tagout procedures.
Personal protective equipment (PPE).
Occupational hygiene and exposure controls.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems.
- Valid BC driver's license and ability to travel between project sites.

Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
