Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class 1 Owner Operator to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles, manage freight transportation efficiently, and uphold safety standards while enjoying the independence of owner-operated driving.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes on Vancouver Island.
- Load and unload freight ensuring proper handling and security of cargo.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and basic automotive repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage freight documentation, including delivery logs, bills of lading, and safety reports with accuracy.
- Coordinate with dispatch for scheduling, route planning, and timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in customer interactions and ensure compliance with transportation laws.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a reasonably clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight handling.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight transportation.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing documentation and schedules.
- Maintain Worksafe coverage, ICBC coverage and be a GST registrant
