About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Painter to join our client's collision repair team in Brampton, Ontario. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in automotive refinishing, color matching, and spray painting while maintaining the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced collision repair environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, filling, and priming.
- Mix and match paint colors to manufacturer specifications using computerized paint systems.
- Apply primer, base coat, clear coat, and specialty finishes using spray-painting equipment.
- Perform blending techniques to ensure seamless paint matching.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform polishing, buffing, and finishing as required.
- Repair minor paint imperfections, scratches, and surface defects.
- Maintain paint booths, spray guns, and other painting equipment in proper working condition.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and collision repair industry standards.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with all workplace safety procedures.
- Work closely with body technicians and shop management to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Automotive Painter in a collision repair facility or body shop.
- Strong knowledge of automotive paint products, refinishing techniques, and color matching.
- Experience using spray guns, paint booths, and computerized paint mixing systems.
- Ability to deliver high-quality finishes with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with waterborne paint systems is considered an asset.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Automotive Painter is required.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence is preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
