Portside Law Corporation is primarily a family law firm based in beautiful New Westminster, B.C. We offer family law legal support to private clients and those funded by Legal Aid BC and some civil support. Competencies:
- Experience working in an office environment;
- Attention to detail;
- Experience with Google Workspace/suite and Microsoft suite;
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills;
- Interpersonal skills and ability to connect with clients and teammates;
- Experience with legal software;
- Excellent editing skills.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- 1 or more years of legal assistant experience;
- Legal Administrative Assistant or Administrative Assistant diploma;
- Experience with Clio software;
- Experience in customer service;
- The ability to speak a language in addition to English.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating appointments with lawyers and clients;
- Answering basic inquiries by phone;
- Greeting clients at the front desk;
- Maintaining the online and hardcopy filing system and bring forward system;
- Compiling and organising legal documents, indexes and lists;
- Liaising with the court registry regarding court dates and court files;
- Provide administrative support such as assembling binders for court, answering phones, making travel arrangements and photocopying;
- Assist the lawyer with billing;
- Other administrative items as requested by the management team.

The successful candidate will be client and team focused and will demonstrate a commitment to core values such as integrity and compassion. Although a legal assistant with law firm experience is preferred, our firm is willing to train the right candidate with little or no law firm experience. Compensation
This full time position's salary will range from $48,000.00 to $55,000.00 annually commensurate with experience. The hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
