Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of freight handling, and the ability to operate heavy equipment as needed. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when required to ensure vehicle reliability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Follow safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record MINIMUM 1 YEAR FLAT DECK EXP
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards in transportation
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting skills preferred
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and route planning for long-distance travel
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation or automotive repair is a plus
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet delivery deadlines
- Ability to work independently for extended periods during long-haul trips
