Industrial Millwright - Acheson, AB
Our client operates a steelworks facility in Acheson, AB, specializing in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel. They rely on precision equipment and machinery to deliver high-quality products, and this role is essential to keeping their operations running smoothly.
The position involves maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of industrial equipment, from CNC machines to facility systems like HVAC and electrical distribution.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage a preventive maintenance program for shop equipment and facilities.
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on machinery such as CNC cutting tables, plasma machines, brake presses, and weld overlay systems.
- Maintain facility infrastructure, including HVAC, compressed air systems, overhead cranes, and electrical distribution.
- Develop and manage a work order and equipment tracking system (e.g., CMMS).
- Oversee spare parts and consumables inventory, including sourcing and vendor coordination.
- Enforce safety protocols such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and OH&S regulations.
- Conduct equipment inspections, documenting maintenance activities, and reporting performance metrics.

Qualifications
- Red Seal certification (or equivalent) as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or related trade.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
- Experience developing or managing a preventive maintenance program.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (up to 600V), including motor controls and VFDs.
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot CNC machinery (controllers, servo drives, encoders, linear motion systems).
- Familiarity with safety procedures such as LOTO, confined space, and working-at-heights.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Acheson, AB.
- Experience with waterjet, plasma cutting, or weld overlay equipment is an asset.
