About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their team on an initial
3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to support the full-cycle processing of a large, national payroll while working within a collaborative payroll team.
- Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for salaried employees across multiple Canadian locations.
- Review, validate, and reconcile payroll information to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Verify employee data, including new hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, overtime, commissions, and time-off information.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies while ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll legislation.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a professional and timely manner.
- Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and other payroll or HR-related projects as required.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
- Minimum 2 years of experience processing full-cycle Canadian payroll within a multi-provincial or national organization.
- Experience working with ADP GlobalView, SAP-based payroll systems, or a comparable payroll platform.
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, payroll processes, and payroll best practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to effectively support employees and internal stakeholders.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or related payroll education is considered an asset.
