Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Secretary / Receptionist to join our growing dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your primary responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, handling administrative tasks, and maintaining smooth office operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and possesses excellent communication skills to support both patients and staff effectively.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression.
- Answer multiple-line phone systems promptly and courteously, directing calls appropriately.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing inquiries to ensure smooth financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, including updating patient information regularly.
- Manage front desk operations efficiently, including checking in/out patients and handling correspondence.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing payments to support daily office functions.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely flow of patient care and office activities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly professional demeanor.
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems and managing busy front desk environments.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling.
- Office experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
