Job Description:
Retail Associates help create a welcoming and engaging environment, building relationships with our customers. In addition to sharing our shop’s mission and supporting a low waste lifestyle, this role operates as a roaming “help desk” that provides customers with product knowledge and recommendations, guidance on the refilling process (both self-serve and staff-assisted), basic wellness and beauty information, and support for their relevant DIY projects. This role is also responsible for simple inventory tasks such as restocking tools and inventory as well as customer service responsibilities such as fulfilling online orders, helping customers with refilling, cleaning + washing, and opening + closing tasks.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
Customer experience- In-store:
● Provide great customer service and create a welcoming environment that facilitates curiosity and explorations of store products as well as Zero Waste and DIY practices
● Assist with customer queries and help them navigate the shop and the refilling process for both self-service or staff assisted systems
● Be a product expertise and continually review and update product knowledge: educate and recommend products to customers and advise on proper usage and care
● Operate various store POS systems and accurately process transactions
● Perform basic retail tasks as needed: restock products, look up prices, take and refill orders, tidy, organize merchandise + tools and problem-solve issues within your scope of responsibilities
● Report product issues or general concerns and feedback to management
Operations:
● Contribute to the daily operations of opening, closing, and cleaning duties to maintain an efficient operation and a clean, organized front of house
● Alongside the backend team, maintain and restock retail shelves and bulk dispensers as needed to ensure customers find what they are looking for and to uphold company merchandising standards
● Monitor dispensers and bulk areas to maintain and rotate in clean tools and equipment
● Participate in department-wide or store-wide special events, training, stock counts and relevant meetings to ensure you maintain latest store products, news and policies.
Employment Requirements
Experience:
Minimum 1 year Customer service experience in retail or related industry
Knowledge:
Zero-waste values, DIY skills, sales process, zero waste concepts and product knowledge
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
Completion of secondary school
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
