Our estate offers premium wine experiences, patio dining, restaurant service, private events, seasonal celebrations, and our popular Summer Concert Series in our vineyard amphitheatre.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef and help lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional food experiences that complement our premium VQA wines.
This role is ideal for a strong culinary professional who enjoys leadership, thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, and takes pride in consistency, quality, teamwork, and guest experience.
As Sous Chef, you will support daily kitchen operations while helping lead the culinary team through patio service, restaurant service, private events, weddings, and concert nights. You will help ensure food quality, presentation, safety, organization, and service execution meet Jackson-Triggs standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Estate Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Lead and supervise the culinary team during service
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and safety standards
- Execute food service for patio dining, restaurant service, private events, and concert nights
- Assist with menu development, prep planning, and special event execution
- Support training, coaching, and development of culinary team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient kitchen environment
- Monitor food preparation, product quality, and station readiness
- Support inventory control, product rotation, and waste reduction
- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards are followed
- Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative kitchen culture
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Certification preferred
- 3–5 years of professional culinary experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory kitchen experience
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and menu adaptation
- Valid Food Handler Certification
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event nights
- Passion for food, hospitality, events, and creating memorable guest experiences
Compensation: $24/hour + gratuities
Expected hours: 25–40 hours per week
