We are a transportation company looking to hire an experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic to maintain, diagnose and repair our truck fleet throughout the year.
Position: Full-time / Long-term
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Days off: Sunday and Monday
Emergency availability: Sometimes start around 11:00 AM when needed
Pay: 40$/hour
Company vehicle and fuel provided
We operate a fleet of trucks that are on the road daily, and we are looking for a serious, reliable and highly skilled mechanic who can diagnose problems correctly, work fast and keep the fleet ready for service.
Main responsibilities:
- Heavy truck repairs and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose engine and transmission problems
- Use scan diagnostic tools for different truck models
- Electrical diagnostics and electrical repairs
- AC / heating system repairs
- Air brake and air leak repairs
- General mechanical repairs
- Liftgate / tailgate troubleshooting
- Battery, alternator, starter, suspension, brake and minor engine repairs
- Repair and maintain shunter trucks / yard trucks
- Experience with Kalmar / Ottawa shunters is an asset
- Update repairs, photos, parts and notes in our fleet application
Truck experience required with:
- Hino
- Isuzu
- Freightliner
- International
- Peterbilt
- Volvo
- Box trucks, tractors, shunter trucks and fleet trucks
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy truck mechanics
- Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, electrical, AC and air systems
- Able to use scan diagnostic equipment properly
- Experience with shunter trucks and Kalmar / Ottawa shunters is an asset
- Able to work independently
- Fast, clean and professional work
- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable, organized and punctual
- Must be available Tuesday to Saturday
