Our client, a well-established hospitality destination in Northern Ontario, is seeking a full cycle bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Reporting to the General Manager, the Bookkeeper will maintain the financial health and integrity of the organization by accurately recording daily financial transactions, handling AP and AR, and preparing financial information for leadership and external accounting professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and expenses using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and apply accounting principles, including debits and credits, to ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage Accounts Payable by processing vendor invoices, scheduling payments, and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
- Manage Accounts Receivable by preparing customer invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, collecting payments, and following up on overdue accounts in collaboration with management.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements regularly, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and statutory remittances while ensuring compliance with applicable payroll legislation.
- Monitor daily cash flow by tracking incoming and outgoing funds to support effective financial planning.
- Prepare internal financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and supporting schedules for management and external accountants.
- Organize financial records and supporting documentation to facilitate year-end accounting and tax preparation.
- Maintain inventory records and reconcile inventory values to ensure financial records accurately reflect physical assets.
- Analyze financial information and spending trends, providing management with meaningful insights to support operational and business decisions.
- Maintain organized financial files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting with a strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles
- Relevant post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using Quickbooks Online is considered a strong asset
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with payroll processing and knowledge of payroll legislation is an asset
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Salary range*: $70,000 - $80,000
*The salary range complies with pay transparency requirements. Total compensation and any flexibility surrounding compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and role alignment, and may include additional components.
