Overview
Burrard Building Solutions is looking for an experienced, reliable and professional Construction Service Technician to complete residential warranty, deficiency and repair work throughout the Lower Mainland.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing position. The successful candidate must take pride in their workmanship, communicate professionally and be capable of working independently without constant supervision.
Responsibilities
- Complete residential warranty, deficiency and general repair work
- Diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair methods
- Drywall repairs, filling, sanding and finishing
- Interior painting and touch-ups
- Caulking and silicone repairs
- Grout and tile repairs
- Laminate, vinyl plank and other minor flooring repairs
- Finish carpentry, including baseboards, mouldings and trim
- Interior and exterior door adjustments and hardware repairs
- Cabinet and millwork adjustments
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Minor electrical work within the employee’s demonstrated qualifications and permitted scope
- Protect occupied homes and maintain a clean work area
- Document completed work with clear notes and photographs
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, builders and office staff
- Identify additional concerns or required follow-up instead of leaving issues unreported
- Maintain company tools, materials and assigned equipment
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant construction, renovation, deficiency or service experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of residential construction principles
- Demonstrated ability to produce clean, professional-quality repairs
- Valid BC driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between job sites
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Reliable, punctual, organized and trustworthy
- Able to manage appointments and complete assigned work independently
- Comfortable working in occupied homes and finished environments
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good judgment and practical problem-solving ability
- Able to safely lift materials and perform physical construction work
- Smartphone and ability to use email, calendars and basic reporting applications
- Own basic hand tools preferred
- References and a satisfactory background check may be required

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
