The Recruitment Specialist partners with operational leaders to support the recruitment of high-quality candidates across Covenant Health. This role is responsible for a range of end-to-end recruitment activities including screening applications, conducting interviews and reference checks and recommending candidates for hire. The Specialist collaborates closely with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill roles and proactively sources candidates through student engagement, career fairs and other outreach initiatives. They contribute to the creation and refinement of recruitment tools such as interview guides, reference check templates and related resources. In addition to supporting day-to-day recruitment, the Recruitment Specialist plays a key role in educating and advising leaders on best practices, processes and policy interpretation. They also collaborate with other Human Resources teams on matters related to collective agreements, selection processes and hiring outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized Human Resources Diploma program. (Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered). Demonstrated understanding and practical application of the full-cycle recruitment process, including candidate screening, interviewing, reference checking and supporting hiring decisions. Experience with recruitment management systems, Microsoft Office Suite and online survey systems. Experience in the development of best practice recruitment templates and tools and the delivery of education sessions to clients.

Related experience with high volume recruitment in a large organization. Experience with applicant tracking systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong competency in planning and aligning work, effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting organizational commitments. Ability to collaborate well with others, building partnerships to achieve shared objectives. Adaptability to manage shifting priorities and complex situations, approaching new challenges with curiosity and a willingness to grow. A strong customer focus is essential, with the ability to instill trust through honesty, integrity and professionalism. Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership and consistently meeting commitments while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Experience supporting recruitment and staffing initiatives within a healthcare setting. Experience working in a unionized environment with demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements and their application to recruitment, staffing, and employee relations. Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) and/or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation. Experience using Taleo, PeopleSoft, Service Now and REDCap.
