We are seeking an experienced Civil Water & Sewer Superintendent to oversee and manage field operations for underground utility projects, including watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm systems. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Skills:
- Strong safety leadership skills and the ability to identify and reduce risk throughout operations
- Strong knowledge of underground installations from both an operational and risk perspective
- Strong understanding of the Legislation applicable to the work
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with government agencies, contractors, suppliers,
- Plan daily/weekly work activities and coordinate with Project Managers
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and local regulations
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and adherence to HSE standards
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment needs
- Monitor productivity, costs, and schedule performance
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment
- Detail and results oriented
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license, and be willing to travel
- 5–10+ years of experience in civil construction, with a focus on underground utilities
- Proven experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on water & sewer projects
- Must know and understand trenching, shoring, and excavation practices
- Pipe installation experience
- Familiar with Municipal standards and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience managing crews, equipment, and subcontractors
- Must have Standard First Aid, H2S, Ground Disturbance II, WHMIS 2015 and CSTS 2020 or CSO tickets .
- Leadership for Safety Excellence Training will be considered an asset
- Must be willing to adhere to all of our company health and safety policies including our Drug and Alcohol Policy

This position will be required to work in various locations. When working away from home camp accommodations or hotel and meal allowance will be provided.
