Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Worker or LPN or Certified Nursing Assistant, to provide high-quality patient care exclusively on Fridays. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive healthcare environment.
My wife is a 73 yr old, who has Multiple Systems Atrophy (an aggressive form of Parkinsons). She enjoys being actively engaged. She is an intelligent, kind, and engaging woman, who enjoys living in the the comfort of her own home with the support of a dedicated care team. We are seeking an individual who will be her hands, voice and companion. Ideal applicant is someone who is compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing respectful, person-centerd care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications via feeding tube (experience preferred: training provided for the right candidate) and monitor patient responses
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, tube feeding, and mobility support
- Safe transfers using an overhead lift
- Assistance with positioning, range of motion and exercises provided
- Care of a tracheostomy (experience preferred; training available for the right candidate)
- Light housekeeping
- Work collaboratively with family members and other care team members to provide consistent, high-quality care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment adhering to infection control standards
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license or relevant healthcare certification with active licensure
- Prior experience in nursing homes, hospitals, acute care, or home health settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and clinical procedures preferred
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including seniors, is highly desirable
- Calm, patient and compassionate attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care
- Physically capable of performing transfers and personal care
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision on Fridays
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Criminal Record check required
- Current COVID-19 vaccinations
Pay: From $33.00 per hour
