Summary
We are seeking a Local Truck Driver to join our team in Martimes. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods, supporting our mission to provide exceptional freight services across the region.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight within Maritimes efficiently and safely.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation if required.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when needed.
- Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in freight transportation and commercial driving.
- Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic automotive repair skills.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks.
- Prior experience with logistics software is preferred.
