Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Torch on Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing roofing systems using torch-on methods, ensuring safety, quality, and durability. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, the ability to work at heights, and proficiency with various tools and materials. The Torch on Roofer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality roofing solutions for commercial and residential projects.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate torch-on roofing equipment to install roofing membranes on various structures
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and inspecting before application
- Use hand tools such as knives, trowels, and rollers to apply roofing materials accurately
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure proper installation
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment to facilitate installation processes
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and weatherproofing of roofs
- Conduct inspections during and after installation to verify quality standards are met
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof framing or structural adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience, particularly in roofing or carpentry, is preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, caulking techniques, and blueprint reading
- Experience with heavy lifting and working at heights safely
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in construction tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials regularly
- Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious mindset, and excellent teamwork skills
