Preschool Canada is looking for a Educational Assistant who is interested in evolving their skills as an educator and challenging themselves to expand their knowledge within a team of 15 educators. We strongly encourage staff to network and bounce off each other while inspiring the growth within the field . You will be expected to work alongside 2 other educators in a room of 24 children to ensure proper sanitization, care, safety of children & create beautiful opportunities to encourage learning through play. There is no experience required for this role but individuals who have worked in childcare prior to is an asset.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid police check with vulnerable sector screening dated within the last 6 months
- Standard first aid and CPR level C
- WHMIS
- Health and safety certificate
EXPECTATIONS
- Register & attend company professional development classes (10 hours per year) some are offered by the county
- Arrive for schedule shifts on a timely manner
- Oversee 24 children with a team of 3 educators per class
- Ability to inspire and educate Co-Op students who want to enter the field
- Knowledge in the CCEYA & How does learning happen
- Implement program planning for designated classroom
- Work cohesively with team members
- Ensure a respectful & warm environment during program hours
- Participate in group activity with children (ie. eating, playing, sharing etc)
We offer 3 paid sick days per year, weekly paid planning time & after 3 months of employment you qualify to apply for our employee benefits package which cover vision, dental & extended health & after 1 year of employment if contract extends you are welcome to join our company pension plan.
