We are currently looking for a Warehouse Material Handler (Afternoon Shift) to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in our Distribution Centre located at 7550 Tranmere Drive, Mississauga, ON.
SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday (Afternoon Shift): 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Warehouse Lead Hand, the Material Handler will participate in our warehouse operations and activities during the afternoon shift, with a goal to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Associate will verify and stock material into inventory, prepare and pack orders, receive incoming material, assist with shipping and loading of vehicles, and perform housekeeping, bin location, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process warehouse stock products.
- Load company vehicles/trucks when all material is ready for delivery ensuring that all material is securely loaded for safe transport.
- Ensure that inventory is stored and protected from damage and readily available for shipment.
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Assist in annual physical inventory counts.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with warehouse and health and safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Lead Hand.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Minimum one (1) year experience in warehouse and/or receiving.
- Certified forklift operator (Counterbalance and Raymond Reach), with minimum one (1) year of operating experience.
- Experience with RF Scanners.
- Strong communication skills, with a customer service orientation.
- Positive attitude with a keen interest in learning our business.
- Detailed oriented.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and contribute to company success.
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking ability.
- Excellent computer skills.
