Summer Community Support Worker
JOB SUMMARY: In keeping with the principles of inclusion and the mission, the Community Support Worker will implement community volunteer opportunities for persons with disabilities in keeping with their aspirations. As well, the Community Support Worker will provid instruction in art classes. The position will be working on site at Storybook Gardens i the morning supporting Hutton House participants while they volunteer in the community. The afternoons will be instructing persons with disabilities in the arts.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participant Supports and Services
1.1 To coordinate and implement volunteer activities both on site and within the community.
1.2 To provide supports to individuals to participate in volunteer activities.
1.3 To monitor volunteer participants by maintaining records of participant activities.
To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Note: International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
