Sales Support and Insights Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Support & Insights Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support to Three Farmers' North American retail customers and sales partners. This role serves as a key link between customers, Broker Partners, Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent execution of customer requirements.
The successful candidate is an experienced Sales Support professional who can hit the ground running, take ownership of their responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, strong communication skills, advanced Excel capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy, accountability and follow-through.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer & External Partner Support
· Manage customer account maintenance and support account set-up requirements with retailers, distributors and other North American customers.
· Work in tandem with Broker Partners on customer requirements, listings, promotions, pricing, portals and other Sales Support activities.
· Manage retailer and distributor portals and ensure required information and submissions are completed accurately and on time.
· Coordinate and support the activities of external Merchandising teams, ensuring priorities, customer requirements and execution expectations are clearly communicated and followed through.
· Manage and coordinate DSD Sales activities and accounts, including customer requirements, sales administration, promotions and ongoing account support.
· Manage customer inquiries and requests, coordinating with the appropriate Sales Manager or internal team to ensure timely resolution.
· Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, Broker Partners and internal stakeholders.
Product Data & Customer Requirements
· Manage internal and external product listings and de-listings, including customer listing forms and new item submissions.
· Maintain accurate product information across the Master Spec Document, customer portals, listing forms and GS1/1WorldSync/IX-One.
· Ensure UPCs, internal product codes, customer codes and other product identifiers are accurate and aligned.
· Coordinate product specifications, certifications, images and other customer-required documentation.
Pricing, Promotions & Trade Administration
· Manage customer promotions, MCBs and trade programs, including promotional calendars, deal sheets, Promo Planner, Sales Tracker and trade spend tracking.
· Manage rebates, chargebacks and deductions, including verification and follow-up on discrepancies.
· Implement customer price increases and maintain accurate pricing information across applicable systems and customer portals.
· Investigate pricing discrepancies and maintain appropriate thresholds and processes to identify exceptions.
· Coordinate promotional and trade information with Sales, Finance, Broker Partners and other internal stakeholders.
· Support Price Audits and Retail Image Audits and communicate findings and required follow-up.
Sales Reporting & Analysis
· Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly Sales reporting and analysis.
· Develop and maintain distribution gain/loss, velocity, gap and performance reports.
· Analyze customer, product, banner and channel performance using Excel and available reporting tools to identify trends, opportunities and potential issues.
· Complete ad hoc Sales analysis and reporting requests within established timelines.
· Support forecasting and demand planning by providing accurate customer, sales, distribution and promotional information.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and other internal teams to ensure customer requirements are communicated clearly and executed accurately and on time.
· Coordinate customer and external partner requirements across departments, including marketing requests, certificates of insurance, samples and other customer-specific requirements.
· Proactively identify issues, coordinate the appropriate resources and follow through to resolution.
Sales Team & Administrative Support
· Provide day-to-day administrative and analytical support to the Sales team.
· Maintain organized sales documentation, customer information, shared drives and sales resources.
· Prepare materials for customer meetings and Sales reviews, take meeting minutes and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
· Coordinate and organize product demos, including scheduling, materials, samples, logistics and communication with customers, merchandising teams and internal stakeholders.
· Support tradeshow, conference and customer event planning, including timelines, samples, materials, logistics and expense tracking.
· Identify and implement opportunities to improve Sales Support processes, systems, reporting and tools, including SOPs and templates that improve efficiency, accuracy and visibility.
· Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Education and Qualifications:
Experience & Education
· 3+ years of relevant experience in Sales Support, Sales Administration, Customer Service, Account Coordination or a similar role, preferably within CPG, food or retail.
· Experience working with retailers, distributors and Broker Partners.
· Demonstrated experience with retailer/customer portals, product listings and listing forms.
· Knowledge of GS1 and product information platforms such as 1WorldSync or IX-One is strongly preferred.
· Experience managing promotions, MCBs, trade spend, rebates, deductions and chargebacks.
· Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas and data analysis.
· Experience preparing sales reports and analyzing customer, product or sales performance data.
· Exceptional organizational, communication and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
· Strong problem-solving skills, initiative and follow-through.
· Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and with external partners.
· Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
· Bilingual English/French is a strong asset.
Work Environment
· Remote position based in Canada.
· Regular collaboration with the Three Farmers Sales team, Broker Partners and internal departments.
· Periodic in-office collaboration at the Three Farmers' head office in Saskatoon.
· Travel may be required for customer meetings, industry events, conferences and trade shows.
· Flexibility to work extended hours and occasional weekends may be required based on business needs.
