Senior Welder / Fabricator
Company: Weldorz Den Corporation
Location: Niagara Falls, ON
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Position Overview (Do not Apply Randomly Read Carefully)
Up until now, Weldorz Den Corporation has operated as a single-handed shop, building a solid reputation delivering custom fabrication, short-run production, miscellaneous metals, and heavy equipment repairs.
We are a growing company driven by a strong vision of excellence as we expand our operational capacity to support larger structural assemblies, heavy plate fabrication, and complex industrial projects. To lead this growth, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Welder / Fabricator to step in, take charge of the shop floor, and serve as our primary technical troubleshooter.
This is a rare opportunity to join as part of the founding team, help build the foundation of our growing business, and share in our long-term vision. This position offers true operational autonomy. If you are tired of corporate bureaucracy and want a shop floor where your skills are respected, the sky is the limit, and you have the freedom to call the shots without micromanagement—this is your opportunity. You will take full ownership of shop-floor execution, oversee quality control, and make critical layout decisions to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Fabrication & Technical Layout: Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and architectural schematics. Perform independent layout calculations (angles, bend allowances, tolerances) directly from raw stock to complete final assemblies.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and proficiently operate standard fabrication machinery, including press brakes, plasma cutters, shears, ironworkers, and band saws. Utilize precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Precision Welding: Execute high-quality MIG (GMAW/FCAW) and TIG (GTAW) welds across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in all positions, adhering strictly to structural integrity standards.
- Material Handling: Perform safe rigging, overhead crane, and forklift operations to transfer heavy structural members and plate material throughout the shop floor.
- Quality Assurance & Floor Leadership: Maintain high standards of quality control, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols (5S methodology), and provide technical problem-solving on complex fabrications.
Qualifications & RequirementsRequired:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of custom metal fabrication and structural welding experience in a manufacturing or job-shop environment.
- Blueprint Reading & Layout: Proven capability to interpret complex engineering drawings and execute custom builds independently without technical oversight.
- Welding Mastery: Advanced proficiency in multi-process MIG and TIG welding across multiple positions and gauges.
- Dimensional Inspection: Experience utilizing calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges to verify tight tolerances.
- Welding Certification: Valid or previous Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) or equivalent credentials.
Preferred:
- Additional Processes: Proficiency in SMAW (Stick welding) for heavy structural or equipment repair work.
- Trade Certification: Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification (CFQ) as a Metal Fabricator (Fitter) or Welder.
- Material Handling: Formal overhead crane and forklift operator safety certifications.

- Wage Range: $26.00 – $36.00 / hour (Compensation is fully negotiable based on your technical evaluation, capability, and how much you prove yourself on the shop floor).
