Overview
Ready to Move From Managing Operations to Helping Run a Business?
Smart Film Inc. is looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager / Operations Manager to become the operational leader of our growing North American manufacturing company.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Plant Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Rather than managing one department in a large organization, you will have the opportunity to become the #2 person in the company, working directly with the President/Owner and taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the business.
About Smart Film Inc.
Smart Film Inc. manufactures advanced switchable Smart Film and Smart Glass technology for residential, commercial, architectural and OEM applications throughout Canada and the United States.
Our headquarters and primary manufacturing operation is located in Beamsville, Ontario, with additional fabrication and fulfillment operations in Florida.
We deliberately operate with a small, efficient team. This means the successful candidate will have substantial responsibility, autonomy and direct involvement throughout the business.
The Position
The President is transitioning away from managing daily operations to focus more heavily on business development, major customers, dealer expansion, OEM opportunities, product development and strategic growth.
Your primary responsibility will be simple:
Run the day-to-day business so the President doesn't have to.
You will progressively take responsibility for operations, production, employees, customers, dealers, purchasing, inventory, quality, systems and our U.S. fabrication operation.
This is a hands-on leadership position.
You may be reviewing production priorities in the morning, resolving a customer issue an hour later, reviewing inventory before lunch and discussing a large estimate or improving a business process that afternoon.
If you enjoy responsibility, problem solving and having a direct impact on a business, this position could be an excellent fit.

- Lead and support our manufacturing team

The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes ownership.
When a problem occurs, your first thought is:
"How do we solve this?"
You are comfortable making decisions and being accountable for the outcome.
You don't need a large corporate structure or multiple layers of management around you to get things accomplished.
You are comfortable moving between the office and production floor and can communicate effectively with employees, customers, dealers and suppliers.
Most importantly, you understand that successful operations are about more than production—they are about people, customers, quality, efficiency and profitability.
Compensation
Base Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year
Performance Bonus: Up to $20,000 annually
Exceptional candidates with particularly relevant experience may be considered above the stated salary range.
Additional benefits include:
