Roofing Assessment & Sales Consultant
Farrow Built — Enderby, BC
Full-Time | Hourly Base + Uncapped Commission | $150K Typical Producer Potential | $300K+ Top Producer Potential
Build an Exceptional Income While Building an Exceptional Career
Farrow Built is looking for a highly driven Roofing Assessment & Sales Consultant who wants to build an exceptional income and career by helping homeowners make smart decisions about their properties.
This is not a traditional roofing labour position and it is not a sit-at-a-desk sales job.
You will be in the field assessing roofs and properties, identifying real problems, developing solutions, building pricing on site, presenting proposals directly to homeowners, and asking for the sale.
When your assessment calendar isn't full, you'll help create your own opportunities through door knocking and field prospecting.
If you're looking for a role where you can simply show up, put in your hours, and collect the same cheque regardless of the result, this probably isn't the right opportunity.
If you are ambitious, coachable, comfortable being measured by results, and want your income and career growth tied to what you produce, keep reading.
What You Could Earn
Compensation includes:
- Hourly base wage at applicable minimum wage
- Uncapped commission
- Approximately $150,000 annual earning potential for a solid producer
- $300,000+ annual earning potential for top performers
- Health and dental benefits
There is no company-imposed cap on what a strong producer can earn.
Earnings vary based on performance, lead volume, close rate, project value, market conditions, and other factors and are not guaranteed.
What You'll Do
Once fully trained, your goal will be to run approximately 4–6 property assessments per day throughout Enderby, Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Vernon, and surrounding communities.
During an appointment, you will:
- Meet with the homeowner and understand their concerns.
- Assess the roof and other relevant areas of the property.
- Access attics or crawlspaces when required.
- Identify repair, maintenance, replacement, or other construction needs.
- Document what you find using photos, measurements, and assessment notes.
- Build pricing on site using Farrow Built's quoting system.
- Explain your findings clearly and honestly.
- Present the recommended solution and proposal.
- Ask for the sale.
- Follow up professionally.
Depending on what the property needs, you may sell:
- Roof repairs
- Preventative roofing maintenance
- Recurring maintenance plans
- Full roof replacements
- Related property repair or construction services
Your Targets
We believe people perform better when expectations are clear.
As you become established in the role, we'll be working toward:
- 4–6 assessments per day
- Approximately 50%–80% closing rates on qualified opportunities
- $200,000+ in monthly sold revenue as an initial production target
- Continued increases in production as your ability and lead volume grow
You'll also be measured on things such as proposal quality, follow-up, maintenance plan sales, customer experience, activity levels, and overall contribution to company goals.
When you're prospecting, we'll measure that too. That could include doors knocked, conversations generated, appointments booked, and results from time spent in the field.
What Training Looks Like
You won't be handed a ladder and told to figure it out.
Initially, you'll work directly alongside company leadership.
You'll complete roof assessment after roof assessment, learning how we:
- Evaluate roofing systems
- Diagnose problems
- Determine appropriate solutions
- Scope repairs and replacements
- Use our quoting tools
- Price work
- Present recommendations
- Handle homeowner questions
- Ask for the sale
- Follow up
- Generate opportunities through door knocking
The goal is repetition until you can confidently own the entire assessment and sales process yourself.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines sales ability with construction credibility.
You may already have experience in:
- Roofing sales
- Roofing installation
- Construction sales
- Exterior renovation sales
- Restoration
- Estimating
- In-home sales
- Commission sales
- Door-to-door sales
- Other building trades
Previous roofing or construction knowledge is strongly preferred.
Previous sales experience is also strongly preferred.
You don't need to know everything on day one, but you need enough construction understanding to learn quickly and eventually sit across from a homeowner with credibility.
More importantly, you need to be highly coachable and hungry to improve.
You Need to Be Comfortable With the Physical Side
This position involves much more than standing in a driveway looking at shingles.
You must be comfortable:
- Climbing extension ladders
- Walking pitched roofs
- Working at heights
- Working outdoors in hot and cold weather
- Carrying and positioning ladders
- Crawling through attics
- Entering crawlspaces
- Kneeling, crouching, climbing, and crawling
- Working around dust, insulation, insects, spiders, rodents, bats, mold, and other conditions that can exist in real homes
Prospecting Is Part of the Job
Our long-term plan is to build a dedicated door-knocking team that generates opportunities for our assessment consultants.
Until that system is fully developed, you may be responsible for generating a significant percentage of your own appointments.
That means there will be days when you are knocking doors, talking to homeowners, creating opportunities, and filling your own calendar.
We're looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity rather than an inconvenience.
Location & Schedule
This position is based from our Enderby office and primarily serves:
- Enderby
- Salmon Arm
- Sicamous
- Vernon
- Surrounding communities
Monday through Friday will make up the primary workweek, but this is a homeowner-facing sales position. Some evening and Saturday availability will be required when that's when the customer or opportunity is available.
A valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle are required to start. A company vehicle may become available in the future as the position and company grow.
Where This Can Go
We are not building this as a dead-end sales position.
We expect the successful person to have the opportunity to grow as Farrow Built grows.
Potential progression could include:
Roofing Assessment & Sales Consultant → Senior Consultant → Team Lead → Sales/Assessment Manager → Sales Leadership
That could eventually mean helping us:
- Recruit salespeople
- Train assessment consultants
- Coach sales performance
- Build an assessment team
- Build a sales organization
- Develop new territories
- Lead prospecting teams
- Improve company sales systems
If you want leadership someday, there is room to earn it.
