Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This position is to cover a Temporary Maternity Leave. In this vital role, you will drive procurement activities, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate logistics operations to ensure seamless supply chain performance. Your proactive approach will help optimize sourcing strategies and support manufacturing processes with precision and efficiency. Duties
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes to source materials and components needed for manufacturing projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors through effective communication, negotiation, and vendor management strategies.
- Coordinate purchasing activities aligned with production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
- Analyze pricing structures and negotiate terms to secure the best value for the company while maintaining quality standards.
- Oversee inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and engineering to identify sourcing needs and optimize supply chain workflows.
- Track shipment statuses, coordinate transportation logistics, and resolve any issues related to inbound or outbound freight.
Skills
- Proficiency in supply chain sourcing.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations within an industrial environment.
- Experience in vendor management, negotiation tactics, and pricing analysis to maximize value.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies and procurement best practices
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal team members
- Ability to analyze data related to purchasing trends, costs, and supply chain performance metrics.
- Familiarity with supply chain compliance standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
International Shipping & Customs Management:
Manage and coordinate international shipments from start to finish, including preparing and reviewing shipping and customs documentation, coordinating with carriers, brokers, and customers, and ensuring shipments comply with applicable international shipping and customs requirements. Proactively troubleshoot and resolve customs delays, clearance issues, documentation discrepancies, and other international logistics challenges to ensure large and complex shipments move efficiently and arrive on schedule. This role requires strong knowledge of international shipping processes and the ability to independently manage high-value shipments through the complete transportation and customs-clearance process.
