We are seeking an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to join our leadership team and oversee all aspects of our bar operations. This role is ideal for someone who is a natural leader, hospitality-driven, and excited to help develop a high-performing team while maintaining exceptional service standards.
The Bar Manager will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, supporting our beverage program, training and mentoring staff, and creating an environment where both guests and team members feel valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Operations & Service Leadership
- Oversee daily bar operations to ensure efficient, organized, and high-quality service
- Lead bar service during busy periods while maintaining exceptional guest experiences
- Ensure consistent execution of beverage standards, recipes, presentation, and service expectations
- Support the development and evolution of the beverage program alongside the leadership team
- Maintain a strong knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, beer, and beverage pairings
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and coach bar team members
- Create a positive, supportive, and accountable work environment
- Conduct ongoing training to improve beverage knowledge, service standards, and operational efficiency
- Provide feedback and performance coaching to team members
- Build strong relationships with staff and encourage professional growth
Inventory & Cost Management
- Manage bar inventory, ordering, receiving, and organization
- Monitor beverage costs, waste, and product usage
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and communicate ordering needs
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all beverage products
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Lead by example in delivering warm, knowledgeable, and attentive hospitality
- Handle guest feedback and service recovery with professionalism
- Build relationships with regular guests and create memorable experiences
- Support reservations, events, and special guest requests when required
Compliance & Operations
- Ensure compliance with Ontario alcohol service regulations and responsible beverage service standards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and health & safety standards throughout the bar
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures and accurate POS usage
- Work closely with the kitchen, floor, and management teams to ensure seamless service
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, Beverage Lead, or similar hospitality leadership role
- Strong knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, and beverage service
- Experience managing, training, and developing hospitality teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong understanding of inventory management, ordering, and cost control
- Experience with POS systems (Toast experience considered an asset)
- Smart Serve certification required
- Passion for hospitality, guest experience, and team culture

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
