Experienced Carpenter / Finish Carpenter

Carbery Construction is looking for an experienced Carpenter / Finish Carpenter to join our team. We specialize in residential renovations and custom projects throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys variety from one project to the next.
While finish carpentry experience is preferred, this is not strictly a trim carpentry position. We are looking for a well-rounded carpenter who is comfortable taking on a diverse range of work and wants to be involved in projects from the construction stages right through to the finished product.
About the Role
One thing that makes our company a little different is that we complete the majority of our finishing work in-house. Rather than handing projects over to multiple finishing trades, our carpenters are involved in many aspects of bringing a renovation to completion.
Depending on the project, your work may include:
- Interior trim, baseboard, casing and doors
- Custom finish carpentry and wall panelling
- Cabinet and millwork installation
- Framing and general carpentry
- Flooring installation
- Tiling and waterproofing
- Drywall repairs and preparation
- Interior painting and finishing
- Demolition and renovation work
- Other general construction tasks as required
Experience across a diverse range of residential construction and renovation work is a strong asset. Tiling and painting experience are particularly beneficial, although we don't expect every candidate to be an expert in every area.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has solid carpentry experience, preferably with a strong finish carpentry background
- Produces clean, accurate and high-quality work
- Is comfortable working on a variety of tasks rather than specializing in only one area
- Has experience with residential renovations and understands the additional care required when working in finished homes
- Has experience with tile and/or painting
- Can work independently when required while also working well as part of a small team
- Is dependable, organized and able to problem-solve on site
- Takes pride in the finished product and pays attention to details
- Has their own basic hand tools
- Has a valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys finish work and attention to detail, but is equally willing to jump into framing, demolition, flooring, tile, painting or whatever else is required to move a project forward.

We are a small company where quality matters. Because we perform so much of our work in-house, this position offers considerably more variety than a traditional finish carpentry role and is a good fit for someone who enjoys developing a broad range of skills while still doing high-quality finish work.

Compensation: Based on experience and skill level
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 44.0 per week
