MacKay’s Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are looking for a reliable and motivated Utility Worker to join our team in Truro, Nova Scotia.
MacKay’s is a well-established, family-owned business with more than 40 years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry. We operate full-line Truck, Trailer and Compact Equipment dealerships in Truro and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

What You’ll Do
As a Utility Worker, you will work collaboratively with our Parts and Service Departments, providing hands-on support to help balance customer needs and operational demands in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas inside and outside the property
- Performing basic landscaping and general property maintenance
- Loading, transporting and delivering parts, materials and other items to customers or businesses in a safe and timely manner
- Assisting technicians with repair and maintenance-related tasks
- Supporting the Parts and Service Departments with day-to-day operational needs
- Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Performing other duties as required
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is dependable, self-directed and willing to pitch in wherever needed. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact positively and professionally with customers and coworkers
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
