Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic leadership. You will oversee all aspects of the accounting function, mentor a small finance team, and collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to deliver financial insights that drive informed decisions, improve performance, and support the company’s continued growth. Main responsibilities include:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and business plans to support strategic decision-making
- Manage cash-flow, banking relationships, financing, working capital, and treasury operations
- Oversee project accounting, including WIP reporting, revenue recognition, job costing, profitability analysis, and financial performance
- Direct core accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, HST, WISB, insurance, and external audit coordination
- Develop and strengthen financial policies, internal controls, accounting processes, and regulatory compliance to support business growth
- Drive finance systems improvement, automation, AI initiatives, and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency and decision-making
- Provide leadership to the accounting team, while partnering with senior leadership on strategic planning, operational improvements, and organizational growth.

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Completed CPA designation or in progress is preferred
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- Minimum 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of ASPE
- Previous experience in the construction industry is considered an asset
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel
