The Coordinator of Ministry Communication helps St. Andrew's communicate its ministry in ways that strengthen participation, discipleship, connection, and community impact.
The Position
The Coordinator of Ministry Communication is responsible for helping St. Andrew's tell its story, strengthen connections across the congregation, and support effective communication within the church and beyond it.
Working collaboratively with the ministry staff, ministry leaders, committees, and church members, this position helps communicate the mission, ministries, and life of the congregation through print, digital, visual, and interpersonal communication. The role also supports the communication and implementation of ministry priorities and initiatives, helping the congregation increasingly function as a connected and collaborative community of faith.
This position reports to the lead minister and works closely with staff, ministry leaders, and the Operational Council.
This is a part-time position of 20 - 24 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling and a combination of onsite and remote work.

Nature and Scope
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is a large and active congregation with a significant local, regional, and online presence. Through worship, faith formation, outreach, pastoral care, community partnerships, and digital ministry, the congregation serves both those who gather in person and many others who participate through television, livestream, and online engagement.
As the congregation continues to grow in complexity and impact, there is a need for communication that does more than share information. This role helps ensure that ministries are visible, connected, and aligned with the broader mission and vision of the church.
The Coordinator of Ministry Communication serves as both a communicator and a connector, helping ministries share their work, support collaborative ministry initiatives, and communicate a coherent story of congregational life.
Because communication is fundamentally relational, the successful candidate will be expected to participate actively in the life of the congregation, including regular involvement in Sunday worship and congregational events, and to develop strong working relationships with ministry leaders, staff, and members.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Communications & Publications
Coordinate and produce communications that inform, engage, and inspire participation in the life of the congregation.
Responsibilities include:
· Development of promotional and informational materials
· Website content management
· Creation, management, and coordination of social media content
· Event promotion
· Digital and print publications
· Preparation of weekly announcements and special communications
· Maintenance of communication standards and branding
2. Storytelling & Content Creation
Help communicate the impact of ministry through stories, images, video, interviews, and other forms of engagement.
Responsibilities include:
· Gather and share stories of faith, service, ministry, and community impact
· Highlight the work of ministry teams, committees, outreach initiatives, and community partnerships through written, visual, and digital communication
· Create and curate content for print, digital, video, and social media platforms
· Develop photography, video, and other multimedia resources that support communication and engagement
· Create impact reports and ministry summaries to support fundraising initiatives, stewardship efforts, grant applications, and community partnerships
3. Digital Ministry & Engagement
Support the congregation's growing online and digital presence.
Responsibilities include:
· Assist with livestream and digital worship communication
· Support online engagement initiatives
· Help maintain digital pathways for newcomers and participants
· Support the development of online ministry resources
· Monitor and improve digital communication effectiveness
· Help identify opportunities to strengthen engagement among online participants and the broader community
4. Ministry Collaboration & Communication Support
Support the communication and implementation of congregational priorities and ministry initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintain awareness of ministry activities and priorities across the congregation
· Support communication planning related to ministry initiatives, events, and congregational priorities – including a yearly communications plan
· Assist ministry leaders and committees in communicating their work effectively
· Support collaborative ministry initiatives by helping communicate shared goals, activities, and outcomes
· Contribute ideas and insights that strengthen communication, participation, and congregational engagement
· Support the implementation and communication of congregational priorities established by ministry leadership
Qualifications
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, media, public relations, ministry, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in communications, project coordination, digital media, or related work
- Experience working with volunteers and community organizations is considered an asset
- Experience within a church or faith-based environment is beneficial but not required
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with digital communication platforms and social media
- Experience with website management and content creation
- Familiarity with graphic design, photography, video production, and presentation software
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders

Summary

Wage Range
$25 to 28.00 per hour (based on 20-24 hrs/week)
To be determined based on hours, experience, and final approved scope.

Probation Period
A normal probation period of three (3) months commencing on the effective date.
