Description complète du poste

The General Accountant is responsible for performing data entry and related support duties within the Finance Department.

Job Duties

Provide accounting and clerical support to the Finance Team.
Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
Prepare bank reconciliations, general ledger posting and statements.
Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database.
Summarize and reconcile expenses, corporate credit cards, and fuel cards.
Provide assistance and support to company personnel.
Research, track and restore accounting for documentation problems and discrepancies.
Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
Assist with other accounting projects and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

Completed 2-year college program or equivalent experience required.
Minimum 4-years’ experience in finance or accounting field required.
Proficiency in Sage and QuickBooks accounting systems required.
Knowledge in Titan software is an asset.
Excellent knowledge of payroll systems, accounts payable, and general accounting ledger is an asset.

Skills

Demonstratable understanding of full cycle accounting.
Commendable skills in general bookkeeping procedures or principles.
Strong interest in business and finance related subjects.
Strong computer and technology skills.
Possession of attributes of patience and flexibility to adjust in diverse business environment.
Skilled in the use of office equipment and utilization of spreadsheets, word processing, and microcomputer abilities in the detection of error and making amendments.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Working Conditions

Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Required to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
Able to view computer screens for long periods of time.
Overtime as required.
