Morden Activity Centre - Executive Director
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day management of the Morden Activity Centre. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides leadership in governance support, financial stewardship, human resources, program and service delivery, facility operations, project management, fundraising, community partnerships, and organizational development. The Executive Director ensures the Centre fulfills its mission while providing high-quality programs and services that enhance the well-being of older adults in the community.
Start Date: Immediate
Hours of Work
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
- Availability for occasional on-call responsibilities to address operational needs or emergencies
Facility Rentals
- Provide strategic oversight of all facility rental operations, bookings, and scheduling.
- Ensure rental agreements, payments, invoices, and documentation are completed accurately.
- Oversee coordination of facility setup, maintenance, and cleanup with staff.
- Ensure renters comply with Centre policies, safety requirements, and facility procedures.
- Promote facility rental opportunities to maximize community use and generate revenue.
Volunteer Engagement
- Provide leadership for volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, retention, and recognition.
- Foster a positive volunteer culture that supports the Centre's mission and values.
- Ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into programs, services, and special events.
- Support staff in supervising and working effectively with volunteers.

Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple programs, services, and competing priorities.
- Experience supervising and developing staff and volunteers.
- Strong grant writing, fundraising, budgeting, and project management skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability to the Board of Directors.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with seniors, staff, volunteers, community partners, government agencies, and funders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office management software.
- Post-secondary education in business administration, nonprofit management, recreation, social services, or a related field is considered an asset, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of senior health resources and navigating the healthcare system. Experience in healthcare and supporting older adults is an asset.
