Evening Cove Developments Ltd. (ECD) is hiring multiple skilled construction labourers and carpenters to join our growing construction team. We are looking for people with hands-on construction experience who are willing to take on a variety of tasks and contribute wherever their skills are needed.
We welcome experienced carpenters, journeymen, Red Seal carpenters, apprentices, and skilled construction labourers. You do not need to have a Red Seal to apply. We are primarily looking for people who are capable, dependable, hardworking, and take pride in doing quality work.
Initial projects are located in Kitimat, with additional projects anticipated throughout Prince George, Kwadacha and Terrace, and Northern BC. Travel and camp work are part of this position.
The Opportunity
ECD is looking for individuals who are comfortable performing a variety of construction duties rather than being limited to one specific task. Depending on your experience and demonstrated abilities, you may be involved in:
- Residential construction and renovations
- Framing and forming
- Concrete preparation and placement
- Interior and exterior finishing
- Drywall, insulation, siding, doors and other installations
- General construction labour
- Site preparation and cleanup
- Operating hand and power tools
- Assisting skilled trades and construction supervisors
- Other construction duties as required
Your First Two Weeks
Because we are hiring for multiple positions and skill levels, the first two weeks will serve as a working trial period.
During this time, ECD will assess your experience, workmanship, reliability, ability to work safely, problem-solving skills, and the types of construction work you are best suited for.
At the end of the two-week trial period, we will meet with you to discuss your long-term role, responsibilities and wage level based on your demonstrated skills and experience.
This gives experienced workers the opportunity to demonstrate what they can do rather than being placed into a position based solely on a resume or certification.
