Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, the Associate Director of Care is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality senior care within a long term care home environment. This position involves supervising care staff, ensuring compliance with Ontario’s FLTCA, and fostering a compassionate, resident-centered atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in senior and dementia care, and a thorough understanding of healthcare operations. The Associate Director of Care plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence, managing budgets, and supporting the overall well-being of residents.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor caregiving staff to ensure delivery of exceptional resident care
Oversee daily operations of the care department, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company policies along with the Director of Care.
Coordinate and monitor medication administration to residents in compliance with healthcare protocols
Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, including dementia and senior care strategies according to the RAI manager
Manage staffing schedules, recruitment, and training initiatives to maintain optimal team performance
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to support resident health and safety
Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, and inventory management for the care department
Ensure compliance with all provincial regulations governing long term care home facilities
Promote a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and professional development
Works closely along with the Director of Care
Must be flexible and able to multitask in a fast paced environment

Experience

Proven experience in a long term care home setting with a focus on senior or dementia care
Supervisory or leadership experience managing healthcare teams or caregiving staff
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and healthcare regulations
Strong background in nursing or related healthcare fields preferred
Experience with staff scheduling is valuable.
Demonstrated ability to lead with compassion while maintaining high standards of resident care
Ability to speak French is valuable but not essential

Pay: $72,449.94-$127,002.99 per year
