Elexicon is looking for a student to join our Metering team to work with and learn from our team and support the cross-functional interactions.
This position will report to the Supervisor, Metering at the Whitby location and is responsible for the daily activities as follows:
DUTIES & RESPONSIILITIES
- Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-focused approach by responding promptly to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Perform daily administrative and clerical functions, including data entry, record maintenance, filing, and management of customer and metering records.
- Support the Metering Supervisor by coordinating new service connections, dispatching Credit and Collections and Metering work, and scheduling customer appointments related to meter access.
- Obtain exposure to ensuring Elexicon vehicles and equipment under their control are maintained and defects are reported to the Fleet Services and/or Supervisor Metering as appropriate.
- Delivery of hand delivered notices as required.
- Obtain exposure and monitor Metering-related systems and tools, including the Customer Information System (CIS), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Help Desk, Workforce Management (WFM) system, trouble tickets, and metering asset records.
- Participate in tracking, maintaining, and reporting on metering assets, inventory, meter repairs, meter and modem re-verification activities, and sample testing programs to ensure compliance with Measurement Canada requirements.
- Maintain spreadsheets and records to monitor metering activities, contractor work, appointments, quotes, invoices, and regulatory reporting requirements, including Ontario Energy Board (OEB) month-end reporting.
- Support the team with coordination of meter dispute processes, including creating work orders, tracking investigations, recording results, and communicating Measurement Canada findings to management.
- Liaise with residential and commercial customers, contractors, and internal departments, including Distribution Services, Billing, and Settlements, to support resolution of metering issues, access concerns, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support team objectives, and perform other related duties as assigned.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers in a variety of interactions (i.e., empathy skills, negotiating skills, personal resilience, and flexibility, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in a College or a University post-secondary program.
- A valid Class "G" license with a good driving record is considered an asset.
Compensation Package: Hourly rate of $23.56 as per our collective agreement with Power Worker's Union (PWU) + OMERS Pension Plan
The above range reflects the reasonable estimate for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, hiring compensation will be determined based on relevant qualifications, experience, skillset, education/ training, and other organizational needs.
