The HIDI Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Lead to join our Electrical team.
This role is ideal for a consulting engineer who enjoys leading projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and taking ownership from design through construction. The Opportunity
Reporting to the Associate or Principal, the Electrical Project Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of electrical engineering projects while supporting the technical development of the project team.
This role combines technical design, project management, client communication, and team coordination to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to HIDI's quality standards.
Project Delivery
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept design through construction
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to HIDI quality standards
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and construction support
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and BIM staff
- Review project deliverables for quality and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, electrical codes, and industry standards
- Support continuous improvement of technical processes and standards
Client & Team Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and internal disciplines
- Support proposal preparation and fee development
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Project Management
- Manage project scope, schedules, and resources
- Monitor project financial performance and utilization
- Identify project risks and develop practical solutions
- Communicate project status with Group Leads and Principals
What You Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology Diploma
- Progressive consulting engineering experience in building electrical systems
- Experience leading electrical engineering projects
- Strong understanding of base building electrical design and applicable codes and standards
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Revit experience is considered an asset)
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities
- A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality work
