Job Summary:
Lead the functioning of a school meal program that provides support for hundreds of families in the Camrose area. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of kitchen related duties within the kitchen of Century Meadows Baptist Church, which operates under Hope Mission. The work entails preparing sandwiches, organizing bins of food, driving and delivering school meals to schools in Camrose and area. The role also requires coordinating the small team of daily volunteers and being a positive representative for Hope Mission to local schools and community partners.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a prayer moment each morning with a small group of volunteers.
- Foster encouraging conversations about Biblical topics and Christian spiritual life formations.
- School meal preparation (sandwich lunches), including: sorting, washing and use of kitchen knives.
- Maintain excellent preparation and cleaning standards.
- Maintain and nurture partner relationships with school staff, Century Meadows Church, and volunteers.
- Maintain a positive and safe kitchen environment.
- Coordinate a team of two to four volunteers to help food preparations
- Work well independently and be self motivated.
- Ability to anticipate and organize program adjustments based on school calendar days.
- Able to physically load and unload bins of food between delivery vehicle and school buildings.
- Able to safely operate a company vehicle for up to 3 hrs a day.
- Be present and participating in staff meetings, Bible readings and staff events.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of high school.
- Driver’s license.
- Related work experience in food safe environments is an asset.
- Approved Alberta Health Services Food Safety Certificate is an asset.
Other Requirements:
- Being a Christian Organization, we require our employees to be in agreement with and sign the Hope Mission Statement of Faith.

- Able to provide Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check
- A letter of reference from a ministry or church is an asset
