Service Advisor (Experienced Required)

Position Overview
Rocky Mountain Dodge, located in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta (approximately 45 minutes from Sylvan Lake, 1 hour from Red Deer, and 2 hours from either Calgary or Edmonton), is looking for an experienced Dealership Service Advisor to join our team.
We’re looking for someone who understands the dealership service process, communicates well with customers and technicians, stays organized, and can confidently manage a busy service desk from write-up through to vehicle delivery.
The Service Advisor is the main point of contact between our customers and the service department, responsible for clearly communicating repair and maintenance needs, accurately documenting service orders, coordinating with technicians and Parts, and ensuring work is handled in accordance with AMVIC requirements, dealership policies, and manufacturer standards.
This position requires prior experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
- Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep experience is a great asset - Bonus Points if your DMS experience includes PBS.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
- Greet customers promptly and professionally in person and over the phone
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Accurately document customer concerns and service requests
- Provide clear, honest, and transparent communication at all stages
- Resolve customer concerns in a professional and compliant manner
Service Coordination & Compliance
- Schedule service appointments based on shop capacity and priority
- Identify vehicle service needs using customer input and service history
- Provide accurate estimates and obtain proper customer authorization prior to work being performed
- Clearly explain repairs, maintenance, and associated costs
- Ensure all recommendations align with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards
- Maintain full compliance with AMVIC, Alberta consumer protection legislation, and dealership policies
Repair Order Accuracy & Documentation
- Open and maintain accurate, detailed repair orders
- Ensure all work performed is properly authorized and documented
- Review invoices with customers to ensure full understanding of charges
- Maintain proper records to support audit, compliance, and dispute resolution
- Ensure timelines, pricing, and services are clearly communicated and recorded
Operational Excellence
- Monitor progress of service work and keep customers updated
- Ensure vehicles are returned clean and all requested work is completed
- Maintain organized workspaces and accurate service documentation
- Ensure proper vehicle handling, key control, and lot organization
Brand Standards & Business Development
- Uphold dealership values and deliver a consistent, high-quality experience
- Promote manufacturer and dealership service programs ethically and transparently
- Contribute to achieving service department targets and customer retention goals
- Stay current on product knowledge, services, and industry standards
AMVIC & Compliance Expectations
- Adhere to all AMVIC regulations and Alberta consumer protection laws
- Ensure full disclosure of pricing, services, and repair recommendations
- Obtain informed customer consent before proceeding with any work
- Avoid any misleading, unclear, or incomplete representations to customers
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct at all times
- Support dealership compliance standards and audit readiness
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1–2+ years experience as a Service Advisor (REQUIRED)
- Dealership experience with Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is an asset
- Strong understanding of automotive service and repair processes
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple customers and tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Strong computer skills (DMS experience with PBS is an asset)
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate manual and automatic vehicles
Education
- High School Diploma (Grade 12)
- Automotive training considered an asset
Work Schedule
- Must be available for evenings and weekends as required
