Position Summary

The Senior Treasury Analyst, Cash Management is responsible for optimizing the organization’s position, ensuring liquidity, and driving operational excellence across treasury processes. This role combines daily cash operations with strategic analysis, forecasting, banking relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role is a part-time position (24 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management & Liquidity

Oversee daily cash position, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational and strategic needs.
Manage short-term investments and internal funding activities in alignment with treasury policies.
Monitor cash balances and intercompany cash flows to optimize working capital.
Lead cash movement structures and the intercompany settlement process.

Cash Forecasting & Analysis

Ownership of the short- and medium-term cash forecasting process, partnering with the operations team to improve accuracy.
Analysis of the variances between forecast and actuals, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Improve reporting to support executive decision-making.

Banking & Treasury Operations

Serve as a primary point of contact for cash management banking partners; support account management, fee reviews, and service optimization.
Accountable for maintenance of treasury systems, bank portals, and payment platforms, ensuring strong controls and data integrity.
Support global payment processes between Canada and Hong Kong, including approvals, fraud prevention, and compliance with internal controls.

Risk Management & Controls

Identify and mitigate operational risks within cash management processes.
Ensure adherence to treasury policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Bank reconciliation and related month-end tasks, including monthly cash and debt reporting to the shareholders.
Debt payment management, including loan principal and interest schedules.
Quarterly reporting related to debt covenant compliance.
Management of the payments and communication to the Canada Revenue Agency and Alberta Treasury Administration.

Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

Lead initiatives to automate and streamline treasury workflows.
Support M&A integration activities related to cash, banking, and liquidity on an as needed basis.
Evaluate and implement treasury technology solutions to improve efficiency and visibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; professional designation (CPA, CFA, CTP) preferred.
5+ years of progressive treasury experience with a strong focus on cash management and liquidity planning.
Advanced proficiency with treasury management systems and bank portals.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
